AroundYou - an app built to bring real meetups back
WebDevsWebDevs

AroundYou is being built for people who want to go out, meet new people, organize shared activities, or simply find someone to share their free time and interests with.

The idea behind the app is simple but important: virtual connections do not always turn into meaningful community experiences. AroundYou aims to help online discovery become real meetups, shared activities and memorable moments.

Why I started building it

Many people would like to find new company, but taking the first step is not always easy. It is not always clear where to go, who to join, or where shared interests can naturally appear. AroundYou is designed to make that easier by showing nearby activities, people and opportunities in one place.

Shared programs make it much easier for friendships, new connections and even relationships to form naturally. The goal is not to keep people inside the app, but to help them step back into real life.

Activities for different interests

The app supports a wide range of categories, so everyone can find activities and communities that feel close to them:

Public and private events

In AroundYou, users can create their own public or private events. This matters because not every activity is the same: some should be open community events, while others make more sense with a smaller group or invited participants.

Users can join events, comment, ask questions, coordinate details, and when an event becomes full, a waitlist system helps manage additional interest.

The goal: more shared experiences

AroundYou is not just an event list. It is a community tool for finding people and situations where connection feels easier. A shared ride, coffee, concert or hike can often create more than days of messaging.

The goal is to build an app that feels modern, simple and human. A digital product that does not replace real connections, but helps create them.
